Two convicted of benefit fraud at Craigavon court - 28 May 2008
Two people were convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Heather Bingham (52) of Dundela Court, Belfast, wrongfully claimed Incapacity Benefit to the value of £193. She will have to pay a fine of £250 and court costs of £184.
Michael Murray (36) of Ailsbury Park, Lurgan was fined £250 for claiming Jobseekers Allowance of £111 while working. He will also have to pay court costs of £196 and repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 173 the number of benefit fraud convictions in 2008.
