Two convicted of benefit fraud at Londonderry Court - 21 April 2008
Two people have been convicted at Londonderry Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Richard Keys (35), of Woodlands, claimed Income Support totalling £38 while failing to declare he had capital. He was given a twelve month conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £55.
Jacqueline McLeese (27), of Kinsale Park, was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £10 for failing to declare she was working while claiming Income Support, Carer’s Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £9,349.
Both are required to repay the money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
