Lisnaskea man given 150 hours community service for benefit fraud - 14 April 2008
A man was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefit he was not entitled to.
Francis Martin (52) of Carrowshee Park, Lisnaskea, claimed Income Support of £4,336 while failing to declare he had capital. He was sentenced to 150 hours community service for the offences which occurred between February 2000 and May 2004. Mr Martin will also have to repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 116 the number of convictions secured so far this year by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
