Dungannon woman convicted of benefit fraud - 10 June 2008
A woman has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.
Deirdre Mary Hoey (30) of Marian Avenue, Dungannon claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £16,466 while failing to declare she was working. She was fined £200 and given a 3 month prison sentence suspended for 2 years.
Miss Hoey is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 187 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
