Cookstown man convicted of benefit fraud - 14 April 2008
A man was convicted at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
Kevin Kempton (51) of Tullywiggan Cottages, Cookstown, was fined £1,050 for claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit to the value of £11,571 while failing to declare he had capital. Mr Kempton has repaid in full the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 117 the number of convictions secured so far this year by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
