Coleraine man convicted of benefit fraud- 2 May 2008

A man was convicted of benefit fraud at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today.
William Innes Hunter (50) of Rockmount Gardens, Coleraine failed to declare his partner was in employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £9,587. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay court costs of £82.
He is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 139 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
