Three convicted of benefit fraud at Omagh court
Three women were convicted at Omagh Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Angela McNabb (45) of Glenside, Omagh, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £1,982 while failing to declare she was working. She was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £40.
Doreen Scott (51) of Drumlegagh Road South, Omagh, claimed Carers Allowance totalling £8,571 while failing to declare she was working. She was given 200 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £52.
Julie Gormley (24) of Hunters Crescent, Omagh, claimed Income Support totalling £2,404 while failing to declare she was working. She was fined £200 and ordered to pay court costs of £60.
All are also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 266 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
