Man convicted of benefit fraud - 28 April 2008
A Newtownbutler man was released on bail pending appeal of a six month sentence for his second offence of benefit fraud at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court today.
Stephen O’Donnell (38) of Railway Crescent, Gortgommon claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £5,676 while failing to declare he was living with his partner.
Mr O’Donnell is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 131 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
