Belfast woman convicted of benefit fraud - 11 April 2008

A Belfast woman was convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today.
Victoria Harris (30) of Shankill Terrace claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £52,050 while failing to declare she was living with her partner. She was given 150 hours community service.
Ms Harris is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 114 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
