Armagh man convicted of benefit fraud - 10 April 2008

An Armagh man was convicted of benefit fraud at Newry Magistrates’ Court today.
William Davidson (53) of Woodlawn Heights, Richhill, claimed Income Support totalling £20,834 while failing to declare he had capital. He was given twelve months probation.
Mr Davidson is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 113 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
